The Crofting Inn

Our dear friends, the Heaberlins, introduced us to Cloudcroft in Summer of 2006.  We were planning a roadtrip to Durango, Colorado, and they suggested we stop in Cloudcroft since it is on the way.  We did, and promptly fell in love with the area--it was so "Colorado-like" with its towering blue spruce and pines, just like Colorado in fact, but with only half the drive! 

We'd never experienced a white Christmas, so we decided to take another 10 hour roadtrip from our home in the Texas Hill Country, to Cloudcroft at Christmastime.  Wow!  What a sight. We found the ground covered in 8" of snow!  At 7" tall, DoodleBug delighted in this new experience.  It was even more beautiful than it had been, covered in wildflowers just a few months before.  Every season here seems to be even more enchanting than the last...for more photos of the area, please visit us at www.soulprintstudio.com.

It's still hard to believe that we actually LIVE in a national forest!  We're within walking distance of some of the most breathtaking vistas you'll ever see... like the Mexican Canyon Trestle Trail pictured here--just blocks from The Inn!
